About
Brian Luff and Georgina Sowerby have been writing and producing comedy together for 9 years, and have presented some of the UK’s most critically acclaimed podcasts. In 2010 Sowerby & Luff’s Big Bang was UK runner up in the European Podcast Awards. Since their first podcast series in 2005, Brian and Georgina have hosted two Edinburgh showcases and have presented breakfast shows at Sony Award-winning Coast 96.3 and at 102.8 Chorley FM. Their autobiographical travel book Sex Tips for Pandas was published in 2009.
Brian started his career as a journalist for ITV. He was a commissioned writer on Simon Pegg’s first TV sketch show We Know Where You Live, and he co-wrote and produced the cult Channel 4 and MTV comedy series Pets. Brian’s novel Sex On Legs scored a world first when it became a premium download audiobook without first going into print. He has since edited the BBC comedy website and produced interactive content for The Mighty Boosh, Have I Got News For You and Q.I.
A former actress and more recently an account manager at Saatchi and Saatchi, Georgina runs regular comedy writing workshops for Think Funny, and has co-written sketches for the award-winning Mensch Markus Show in Germany, as well as contributing articles for North magazine and Podcast User. She produced one of London’s longest-running fringe shows Sketch Club and in 2006 co-created the chart-topping viral movie Mark Your Territory for Maverick Films. Georgina once worked as the press officer for Viagra, and has featured in a pop video with Blur. But she can’t remember which one it was.
